I hardly noticed that it's been 2 years already since I last read a chapter of one of my favourite manga, Nana. The mangaka, Ai Yazawa is sick and now recovering. It was reported that she has returned home from the hospital but she does not know if or when she will return to work. I hope for her fast recovery and she would be able to draw and to give Nana a nice ending. That story deserves a good ending, the last few chapters before her hiatus was totally heartbreaking. I even cried for the lost of one the important character in the story. So I dedicate this card for Ai Yazawa's recovery and from her fans all over the world.
Ai Yazawa is a popular Mangaka and some of her works includes: Paradise Kiss and Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai. I have completed Paradise Kiss and I have seen the anime adaptation too. While waiting for the continuation of Nana, I might just read her other works instead.

ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember the hiatus waaay back. I haven't read the manga but I've watched a bit of the anime Nana (And I watched Paradise Kiss as well) and I used to check on the manga so I am a bit familiar with her style.
know she did a very great job at it - but it's too realistic to the point that it doesn't entertain me. I'm idealistic and I'm easily affected by anime and I just hate how she depicted the normally flawed people's disgusting sides and imperfect relationships/situations so realistically. It kind of gave me an NTR vibe - the kind of thing I hate to watch. ( the too-many-relationships/infidelities/etc.)
I can still feel my blood boil everytime I remember that pedo-bait prepubescent-looking girl Whorish-Nana's first boyfriend cheated her with. How she blocked Badass-Nana when she's suppose to hit the guy - when he certainly deserves to be hit. I think Bad-ass Nana should've hit her together with the guy. Ugh. - That was the time I dropped the anime.
And it's very VERY irritating how Whorish-Nana turned out to be so ...whorishly naive in almost every situation. UGH.
Anyway... I'm sorry for getting carried away >n< I really hope that she'd give the manga a closure it very much needed. Hopefully in the near future. :3
Your drawing is so cute! You're so talented! I read Paradise Kiss, but I do not remember much D: I should reread it... And I hope she gets better soon too, cause I know way too many people that love her work! :)
